2019 – 24th and 25th January – heatwave, RERT (VIC and SA) and Load Shedding (VIC)

A collection of articles written during analysis of what happened during Thursday 24th January and Friday 25th January 2019, where we saw very high temperatures across much of Australia leading to high levels of demand and stretched generation supplies.

Prices spiked to the Market Price Cap in Victoria and South Australia for many hours, the Cumulative Price Threshold was reached for each. Reserve Trader was dispatched on both days, and Victoria saw mandatory load shedding.
