Full Disclosure 3 – a beneficiary of QLD’s 44c solar Feed-in-Tariff

FULL DISCLOSURE 3

Paul McArdle Avatar (80x80) In the interests of full disclosure, I also note that I am one of the lucky ones who was able to install a large PV system at home and secure the Queensland Government’s generous 44c/kWh feed-in tariff.

This is what I noted to the Fin Review back in January this year.

At the start of the year, Bruce Mountain published some analysis that showed that on average, residential solar PV owners did not receive a windfall gain – however Bruce’s analysis did point out that the situation would vary from customer to customer depending on factors such as:

1)  The specifics of the feed-in arrangement (there are many of those);
2)  The size of the system
3)  The geographical location in the country,
4)  The technology used (and cost paid for it); and
5)  Local factors (e.g. inclination to the sun, direction of the roof, shade cover etc…)
